Engagements and Birthdays, Oh My!

This past weekend, my brother in law got engaged! We are so excited for Evan and Claire. I knew from the moment I met Claire we would be instant friends and by the end of dinner she was on a nickname basis with Elliott (aka EARS). On the way home from our trip to visit Evan in Boone, NC, Elliott and I talked about how much we knew Claire would fit in the family and how we couldn't wait for them to get married! Last year, they moved to Louisiana but Evan proposed in North Carolina where they are visiting friends and also celebrating Claire's birthday today. Besides being a fellow December birthday (and being 11 days apart) Claire adores children, loves to cook, and is a fabulous dresser! Last summer we showed up to Meredith and Todd's (Sister-in-law) rehearsal dinner wearing the same top and there have been numerous occasions in which we have said "I have that shirt/shorts/shoes"

She will make a wonderful wife to Evan and we cannot wait until she is officially a "Scroggs"

gotta start somewhere

So last week, I got the urge to blog. I have been in what my husband calls "the blogosphere" since March, and by that I mean reading other people's blogs. Mainly fabulous sister Ashley's blog (http://www.ashleydonald.blogspot.com/) and several other sweet friends! I only stalk a few people I don't actually know but am sure we would be BFF's.  I have really enjoyed just being able to keep up with friends and haven't really thought I had much to say...
The first question really is where to begin. Do I start with the new year- 2011? Or try to summarize the last 25 years of my life? I think I'll begin in the now and add some tidbits of the past here and there...
So here's to blogging- It's official- !
